My Maytag centennial washer was purchased 3/2010. so barely 2 years old.
Has worked well for 2 years no noises or problems. tonight filled, started agitating as normal, when I went back to change the load, washer full of water. Tried to advance manually, will not agitate, spin or drain either. Makes a quiet hum/buzzing sound.

I purchased a Maytag because my last Kenmore only lasted 6 years.

Help! we have a family of 6 - tons of laundry!:(

A week ago I had a problem like this. Turned out a sock was caught in the pump. So take off the cabinet and take off the pump and check it out. If nothing else you can eliminate that potential problem.
