I have standing water in the bottom of the dishwasher. I ran a cycle and it added a little water. I can hear the wash motor going, but I don't hear the drain motor come on. It has a delay between cycles where I believe it is sending for water supply but the float keeps it from adding water. So it is silent in between each wash/rinse cycle. There is no blockage in the drain hose. It appears that it uses the same motor for the drain pump as it does for the wash pump. Can anyone confirm this? If so, the motor is fine. Should I start by disassembling the drain pump assembly underneath the water spray arms? Greg

The drain hose wasn't clogged, but when it would heat up from the hot water it would soften up enough to kink. Dishwasher is working fine now.

Great, glad you solved it. It sure sounded like a drain hose problem.
