GE washer randomly stops

At random times after we starter our GE washer, it just stops. We press the start button and it usually restarts but then will randomly stop again. Sometimes it makes it through an entire wash without stopping, other times it will stop very frequently. Any ideas as to what is going on here and/or what needs to be replaced?

It could be the control unit, so go ahead and replace it. If you buy from this site and the part does not fix the problem you can return it.
