My washer will agitate but not spin or drain. I can hear the motor hum, and then a faint burning smell. If let in this condition long enough, the hum will stop and when you rotate the timer, nothing happens. Wait a few minutes and turn the timer again...and it will agitate but not drain.

The pump is not clogged. I took everything apart and checked the inlet hose and outlet hose. I can manually move the belt and water gets pumped out. I also bypassed the lid switch. Any help would be appreciated.

I think your brakes are not releasing, and that means getting into them and checking it out. You will need a special brake tool, because the brake is under 200 lbs of pressure and it can be dangerous to go in there.
