Maytag doesn't agitate or spin.
Model Number: MAVT546EWW Brand: Maytag Age: 1 - 5 years
My washer won't agitate or spin, the motor just hums. I checked the belt and pulleys they spin freely. The agitator and tub won't move. I'm thinking it the transmission however I'm wondering if the spin brake is stuck or a bearing has seized. When I take it apart what should I look for?

The brakes keep the basket from turning during agitation, so it is not causing the agitation to not work.
If the motor is working this suggest the transmission is the problem. Be sure to check the pump for any obstruction.
