fix or kill it?
Model Number: VVXR1040T5WB Brand: Hotpoint Age: 5 - 10 years
Machine just spins but sounds like it is agitating. Leaks water when on large load capacity

Are you saying that the tub spins during the wash cycle?
If so the brakes bad, the brakes are part of the transmission so the whole transmission will have to be replaced. If you decide you want to repair this yourself this page will help GE Washer Disassembly Guide
