I have a front load washer that needs new rubber gasket on door..it is
all mildewed. I have found out I can order a replacement part but my question is I was told by an appliance repair man that some have a chemical added that keeps the gasket from mildewing. I don't want to
buy one at $133 just to have it have this problem again. Also where are
instructions on how to replace this part.

The gasket comes with super glue to glue it to the panel. complete instructions come with the gasket. In a "sticky" above, they suggest you keep the door open when not in use. This is a rather easy job.
