I have a whirlpool Duet Washer with the door locked and closed. I tried to go inside and release the teardrop shaped pull, but this does not release the door. Help!

Try pliers on the teardrop, if no go, I would just yank on the door, might bust the latch or door catch, but probably need replacement anyway.
