My Maytag will fill with water but then will only hum a few min. then stop. Can you tell me maybe what part is bad.

This is a direct drive washer, with no belt and the motor has one shaft that connects to the transmission via a coupling and the other shaft operates the pump, which is in reverse when the machine should be agitating.
The first things you want to check are the pump, to see if something is obstructing it and if that checks out check the coupling to see if it is broken and jamming things up.
Use the video library at the top of the washer page to get a video of how to open up your machine and take off the pump and motor.l
