Washer makes a whiring noise during agitation. The noise is not there during filling, draining, or spinning. Can you tell me what this might be?

The model number you provided is not a Whirlpool valid model number.

Verify and repost it, please.

Thank you for your reply. I went to the whirlpool site and input the model WT48500. They came up with a parts list for that number but it says Inglis. The washer name says Whirpool. I guess they must be the same. I assume I have a Inglis washer with a Whirpool name on it.

I keep trying to post the link but this post keeps changing the link. Just go to www.whirpoolparts.ca and enter the model number WT48500. It will take you directly to the parts list.

Thanks

Jim

Jim,

This is the Canadian model number. That's why it did not came up on American web sites.

Check for possible foreign objects under the agitator or inside the pump.

If there is nothing wrong, then the problem is the transmission.

Best regards.
Gene.
