My washer will fill, but not agitate or drain. Lid switch tests OK. Timer does not move on its own from any position. Do yo think it's the timer?

It could be, but I would first go back and check out the lid switch again. Basically you want to by pass it and see if the machine works. That is the best and most complete way to do the test.

If the motor never runs, I would suspect the lid switch also.
