My Whirlpool washing machine won't go into agitate or spin cycle unless I grab the drum and force it back and forth or try to get it to spin by hand. Once it starts, it runs fine until it has to go back into the spin or agitate cycles. I hear the motor humming and try to get it go move the drum before it gets to hot then shuts down. I purchased a coupler, but when I checked the coupler, it looks fine, but I looked at it without taking anything apart. Before I get to far into the repair, am I doing the right thing or should I be looking elsewhere?
