Our Maytag Neptune toploader (FAV6800) will only fill when cold water is selected. I suspect the problem is with the water inlet valve (part no. AP4008714). Does that sound right?

You can test that theory by using a volt meter to see if current is getting to the hot water valve when the timer calls for hot water. If you are getting 110-120 to that valve then the value is the problem.

You can go into Service Mode and turn the HW valve on and on also and measure with a DVM as sidfink43 said. Follow the steps on page 16 under Board Output test. If you don't have the SM google this ""16022808.pdf""

Inlet valve screen is clean correct?

If you are going to DIY repair on the FAV6800/FAV9800A the SM is handy.......Dick
