Will not do final spin. I jumpered the lid switch, replaced the timer twice but still no results. The washer fills with water for final spin and then just hums for a short time then shuts off. If you return a half hour later and turn it on it will finish the cycle. What is wrong?

This is kind of a mystery since it sounds like it does the first spin ok. That may not be happening so you need to check it out. If it is doing the first spin then it sounds like the motor may be overheating from the rinse and having to shut down (it has a thermal protection device). In that case the motor may be the problem.
