strange code

Model Number: mah8700aww Brand: Maytag Age: 1 - 5 years

I get a code that's not in the user guide. It's an upside down F and E. I rotated the dial to make sure all the elements in the display work. When I push the power or dial the machine lights up then in about 5 seconds I get the ding and the code. Please help.
