Goodafternoon,
The first wash, after installing a new belt, onnce the spin cycle commenced heard two distinct noises. One like a switch clicking on and off under either a short or failed contact and a solenoid like sound. The machine stopped spinning with 30 sec. Looked at the lip switch and the metal arm over the latch lever had retracted into the cabinet...fished this out, for the purpose re-alignment over the latch lever but nothing!
Any suggestion, any one!
Thanks!

About the best guess here is the lid switch, and if you want to try to replace it go ahead. If you buy from this site and the part does not fix the problem you can return it.
If it is not the lid switch, then given the age of the machine you may be much happier replacing it.
