Default Repair or replace
Model Number: 11092281100   Brand: Kenmore   Age: More than 10 years

Washer suddenly stopped working last night. It is 16 years old and is making a "humming" sound when trying to agitate - but just sits there. It will drain very slowly but makes the humming noise when trying to do that. It does fill as usual. Any ideas what it can be? Is it worth repait or is it time to replace it and my dryer. Both purchased as a set in 1993.

Most likely the problem is a bad motor.

You decision should be based on the washer and the dryer condition, not the age.

With today poor quality and reliability is better to keep any old appliances as long as it is reasonable.

- The part number for the motor is AP2905451

Good luck.
Gene.
