Model Number: TAWX700JQ1 Brand: Estate Age: 5 - 10 years
I have an Estate washer, model # TAWX700JQ1, that when agitating makes a slight thumping noise. The agitation produced is very weak and the lower agitator moves about 20 degrees on it's axis. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like something is broken on the agitator and your agitator dogs are not functioning correctly
I would pull the agitator off and look for damage. If you see some replace it and replace the dogs. If you do not see any damage, replace the dogs and see if that fixes it. If not you are back to replacing the agitator. Good luck, let us know what you find out.

Thanks for your help.
I took a closer look at the agitator after reviewing the diagram, and discovered the dogs are are badly worn. I have ordered the AP3138838 Agitator repair kit, and I'll let you know if that takes care of the problem. Thanks again. Bill |
