I have a GE washer (model WSSH300GWW). It is a front loading model and is about 1 1/2 years old. When I load it with clothes and turn it on, it will not fill with water. Doesn't matter if it set to hot or cold. The drum spins freely and the belt is intact. It is getting plenty of water pressure to both the hot and cold inlets. If I move the dial ahead to the spin cycle, it will spin easily, but no water will go in the tub. When I took the hoses off, I did not see any blockages.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Here's what I have tested so far. The water inlet valve has 2 solenoids on it with each having a 2 wire connector attached to it. Is there supposed to be voltage coning to these solenoids to open them and allow water to flow through the single outlet hose? When the washer cycle is engaged, there is no voltage coming through any of these wires to the water inlet valve. Does this information help?

Anyone know how these are supposed to read on a volt meter?

Hi Knudson

When the machine is in fill mode there should be 120 volts coming to the solenoids, which will open them.

Sounds like that is not happening with your machine, in which case you probably will have to replace the control assembly. Before doing so you should check the wiring to make certain there is not break or short in the wiring from the assembly to the solenoids.

Hope this helps, good luck with your repair.
