Question washer will not spin
Model Number: RAL5144ALO   Brand: Roper   Age: 5 - 10 years   
Just got the washer from a friend.....the washer will not spin, it goes thru all the cycles. But, when it starts to spin it makes a loud "clanging noise"...and other times, it does not make the noise, but will not spen..we would appricate some ideas..thanks

yes,it drains all, except what is in the clothes.

Most likely the problem is a bad motor drive coupling (#13 on the motor and pump break down diagram).

- The part number for the motor drive coupling is AP3963893

- Here are the break down diagrams for the Roper washer Model RAL5144AL0
