Model Number: LSQ9010LW2 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
Hi Everybody,
I would love your thoughts on a quick question. I have a Whirlpool top load Washing Machine (model #LSQ9010LW2) and in an effort to remove mildew and soap-scum, I have detached the "clothes mover" from the "agitator". Under the agitator assembly (dogs, cam, and bearing) sits the "Thrust Spacer". In my case, the spacer is a *flat*, plastic 3" ring with 8 cutout tabs that are slightly elevated by approximately 1/8th of an inch (part #AP3020663). My question is: when installing this thrust spacer around the axis of the agitator, should the elevated tabs point *down* towards the agitator, or *up* towards the underside of the dog assembly and clothes mover?" Thank you very much for any light you can send my way. Notes: (Some schematics and kits show a thrust spacer with tabs AND a collar. My unit clearly has no collar.) (Funny, the official Whirlpool parts manual for my washer model shows a different agitator assembly. The friendly Parts agent on Whirlpool's 1-866 number had the same, incorrect parts schematic. A call to an appliance parts supplier was equally stumped as I am.) Related Models |
