I replaced washer motor with AP4010201 that I bought from Appliance Parts Pros , connected all wires to new jumper, with correct colors but now it will turn with wash cycle but not with rinse or spin cycles. It gets to hot pops thermo switch. It has all the same spects as the old one; 1/2 hp, 120 v,7.4 amps, 40 degrees c, class b 1725 rpm. Belts are correct, small one for pump, and fat one for tub, cant really get them wrong, is maybe the wiring wrong, one black, red, yellow, white, blue, witch match the jumper wires, please help.

I really don't know but as long as you're replacing parts....I had a similiar problem and replaced the lid switch. Mine would let the water enter, but then not enter into spin. The lid switch was the ticket. Again, buyer beware- I'm not qualified- and just another frustrated homeowner. h

Assuming you wired the new motor correctly, check the pump belt to make sure it is loose. If the pump belt is not loose the motor will have a hard time starting. Also make sure the motor is free to slide back and forth on the rollers if not this will also cause the motor not to start. Hope this helps! Clothes Washer Repair Guide
