I Have A G.. E Washer, Model # Wpse5290a0ww, I Have Just Replaced The Motor And Harness After The 2 Speed Motor Would No Spin, Only Agitate. After Installing New Motor, I Was Able To Wash One Load. The Second Load Only Filled, Motor Humm, Drain / Spin. In Rinse Cycle: Refill, Motor Humm, Drain / Spin.

I Fell That The "wash Cycle" In Mother Board Has Gone Bad. What Do You Think?

Also, I Think The Balance Ring Is Going Bad, In Spin Cycle, Tub Begins To Hit The Side.

Any Help Would Be Appreciated, Thanks

Remove the belt and turn the tranny pulley in the agitate direction ad see if it turns.

Thanks For Getting Back To Me So Soon.
Per Your Instructions, I Took The Belt Off And Turned The Pully. Clockwise, The Agitator And Inner Tub Moves. Counter Clockwise The Pulley Moves Freely.

Ref: G.e. Profile, Model Wpse5290aoww, Top Loader.

I Also Put A Cuple Of Towels In The Washer, Med Water Filled To See If It Would Kick On. No Agitation, Just Humms. I Put It On Spin, Water Goes Out Quickly And Spins Starts. Tub Begins To Hit Sides. I Stop The Machine And Rearrange Towels. I Have To Do This One, Two And Maybe Three Times Before It Stops Hitting Sides.

I Also Check Lid Switch, By Pass Switch And Same Performance.

Please Get Back To Me Soon.

If the agitator and spin basket moves together, that's a bad tranny.

Thanks For Your Quick Response, Ready To Order New Parts That Apply. I Have To Order Before 4pm.
Just To Be Sure, With The Belt Off, I Turned The Pulley Clock Wise And The Agitator Turned Together With The Inner Basket.
I Then Turned The Pulley Counter Clock Wise And The Agitator Turned, The Inner Tub Stood Still.
The Parts I Will Ordering Wil Be:
Transmission, Part # 320, With Seal, Part # 311, (new Style) And Hub Nut # 325.
Should I Order These Other Parts While Everthing Is Torn Down?
Ring Split # 313
Tub Bearing # 314
Washer Hub # 315

Question, If The Trans Goes Bad, Is That Why The Spins Goes Into Unbalance? What Is Function Of The Balance Ring? Just Curious.

Thanks Again.

The balance ring helps to keep the spin shake to a minimum. The shaking is due to the cloths bunching from the combined spin and agitate.
You might njust replace the tub bearing and seals while you have it apart.

I'm Back.
Well, I Put In The New Transmission And Associated Parts.
Hard Time Taken Off The Hex Nut; Drilled, Oil And Hammer, Finally Turned And Came Off. ( I Just Realized, There Is A Tool For That).

Still Having The Same Problem......fill, No Agitate/motor Humm, Go Into The Rinse Cycle, No Agitate/motor Humm And Spin Again.

I Have A Strong Feeling It Is The Control Board Because All The Wash Cycles Don't Work. Only Spin Cycle. I Looked At The Control Board And It Is All Circuits. What Do I Do????

If I Replace The Control Board And It Doesn't Work, What Next?
Please Get Back To Me, Laundry Is Stacking Up And The Wife Is Becoming Impatient. Help! Help!

Mosquito Is Getting Stung!

Without meter data, it's hard to pin down your problem. I would replace the control board based on voltage measurements, but I assume you have no voltmeter: Control bd. AP3156198

I Accidently Found My Meter Looking For Another Tool. I Read Earlier In The Forum On How To Check, Now I Can.t Find It.

Anyhow, Moving Right Along..... You Said I Could Check With A Meter? I'll Try That Next. What Do I Do?

You Said I Could Just Replace The Control Board. Let's Say I Do That And Still Have The Same Problem. What Next?

So Far I Replaced The Motor And Transmission. I Don't Think I Can Return The Transmission. I Am Determined To Fix This Machine.
