This washer will fill up and drain but will not spin. The timer dosent seem to be moving. I checked the fuse on the speed control unit and seems fine. I pulled six pin plug checked the voltage between pins 5 & 6 and got 0 volts. I also pulled the drive belt and check for motor rotation. Got nothing! Im ruling out door lock switch because it fills and drains. I cant find the timer line switch to check it. I dont have the money to just buy parts that dont need replacing. Please help

Check the wires from the door lock. If there is nothing wrong, replace the door lock assembly.

P.S. If you order any part from APP, you can return it within a year even if it was installed.

I thought if the door lock wasnt working that nothing would work on the washer?

That's why you have to check the wires first.

I checked the wires and they seemed fine. So i ordered a new door lock got it plugged in and there is no difference. I didnt put the back and top back on the exterior and didnt hook the water back up. I put the door lock together closed the door and made sure all the wires was plugged back into the speed control unit, plugged the power cord in and put it on final spin. The pump came on (no water in tub) It just kept running so i pushed in the timer knob in moved it 1 click to the right pulled timer knob out still in final spin and nothing would happen.

Disconnect the six pin plug from the speed control board. In the plug check the resistance between pins 1 & 2, 2 & 3, and 1 & 3. The normal reading suppose to be about 2.6 Ohms. If one or more of the reading shows open or shorted, the motor is defective.

Did you do it at the speed control board?
Did you set the timer to the Start of the heavy wash cycle before this test?

OK I set timer to start in the heavy wash cycle pins 5 & 6 read 120 volts. Resistance between pins 1 & 2 is 2.8, 2 & 3 is 2.7 and 1 & 3 is 2.8ohms. This means the motor is fine right? Thanks for your help. What is next?

Disconnect the ten pin plug from the speed control board. With the timer set to start in the heavy wash cycle measure the voltage drop between the pin 5 of the six pin plug and the pins 1, 2, 6 , 9 & 10 of the ten pin plug. Post the results.

Ok pin 1 = 121.8 volts, pin 2 = 0 volts, pin 6 = 0 volts, pin 9 = 0 volts and pin 10 = 121.0 volts.

According to these results the timer is bad. There is a small chance for the speed control to be bad as well. I would replace the timer first. Hopefully it will fix it.
