Washer started making a noise a couple of weeks ago. Now progressed to loud thumping and spin cycle has slowed considerably. Laid washer on it's back and saw no apparent problems. Thanks for your help......Matt

Is it just one thump or does it keep making a thumping sounds throughout the spin cycle?

It continually thumps every second or so.

Could be the drive block stripped out. You can remove the agitator and watch it spin with the lid open to see if it's slipping on the drive block.

Installed new drive block with no improvement. Still loud thumping at beginning of spin cycle. Water pumps out but tub spins very slowly.
