I’m writing after the fact. I had a problem with little or no water flow from the water intake in my Maytag. I took the old Termistor, water valve, out and cleaned the rust with Out Rust, which must have been a mistake. I reinstalled the termistor, the water came in full flow, but did not stop. :( . I guess the Out Rust damaged the connections in the termistor.
I ordered AP4029160 from your web site. I’m writing for reassurance that the termistor will work in my washing machine. I tried to order the same part from Maytag, but it would have cost more and taken longer to get here. Let me know if I should worry.
Thanks
Hank Kearns

By your description it sounds like you need to replace the water inlet valve. The thermister just controls the hot/cold mis, according to the selecter temperature. Probably. while cleaning the water valve, some debris became dislodged and fouled up the solenoid(s).
