How can I repair the latching device (where the lid pin fits into the latch to make the machine operate) Two pieces have broken and come out - one has part #3949238 & 9917 E. Also, how do you remove the lid in order to replace the part.(machine serial #CJ-1929471)

Hi MCS

You do not take off the lid, but the whole front of the cabinet.

Take out the two screws that hold the console to the cabinet, they may be in front, in back, or under a trim piece which comes off.

The console will then flip up, and you can disconnect the lid switch, use a flat blade screw drive to take out the two clips that hold the cabinet to the back and open the lid and pull the cabinet towards you.

You can now take off the lid switch, replace it and if you need to replace the plastic piece in the lid that engages it.
