Model Number: fwt645rhso Brand: Frigidaire Age: 1 - 5 years
I have a frontload washer purchased in feb of 03 it makes a terrible sound when drum is going around. Sounds like something is draging. When I took off the back and top nothing looks wrong. We already replaced the shocks and water pump about a year ago. We also had an Sears tech out and he says with just listening to the drum its the bearings going bad. About a 500 to 600 dollar fix! Is this something that we could do or not even worth it? Any suggestions? Also sears says that its from not using a low sudzing soap and that is why its not covered under the extended warranty. Thanks for some imput. |

You can buy the rear shell assembly for about $250 plush shipping. There is a very good article on this at (www.applianceaid.com) ,good luck.

It sound to me like the sears tech was trying to get out of work. Call again and ask for a different tech. If that doesn't work try cr. But I'm sure the different tech will order the parts. PS hide your soap and put a jug of h.e. soap on the the shelf.
