This machine has been making a raspy noise but would work through every cycle. Now, it failed in spin cycle. Pump worked and no spin.

Scout, Your first check needs to be at the thrust bearing, drive pulley and belt under the bottom of the washer, Part number: AP4009132
Part number: AP4024823
If the pulley cam or bearing assembly are worn or distorted, the washer will make a noise, and eventually start to slip because the tolerance changes, won't allow the brake rotor and stator to lock and unlock properly. Good Luck and Thanks, :) :) :)
