 Agitator Problem???
I have old Whirlpool washer (#LA7680XTN0)in the reg wash when agitating it works ok unless it has alot of clothes in it. (will wash 4 pairs of jeans not any more) it starts making noise and doesn't agitate right.
I was told gearbox is bad. I had it apart and didn't see anything worn or broke. What inside the gearbox or anything else can be possibly wrong?????

Pull out the tranny and turn the coupler counterclockwise till the tranny spindle starts to turn back and forth. If you feal any mechanical problem, or it fails to go back and forth properly, you have a bad tranny.

I will check that again , but I don't think anything was wrong. I pretty
sure it was going back and forth. If it is, could it something else???

The only thing that would make a bad mechqanical noise in agitate is the tranny, unless all the bolts are loose! Either that or a stripped agitator, rather rare.
