Trying to find answer as to what would cause the items to remain very wet after the machine has finished. It appears that all the water is not leaving the tub after the spin cycle. I can not hear the water draining when I put the machine back on on the spin and drain cycle.

Check #41 in this diagram for your model washer. It's the hose right before the pump. It gets stuff caught in it and restricts the drain pump from doing its job.
