I have a Maytag Atlantis washer. It will run through a whole cycle, but will not agitate or spin. It will not empty fabric softener either. What could be the problem?

My model # is MAV6200AWW. It won't agitate or spin at all, although it will run through the whole cycle.

Ok, I would say as a start lets look at the lid switch. The type you have on your machine have failed in other models. If it is not the problem then we want to rule it out first thing.

Take off the back of the console and try to operate the machine while manually making the lid switch make contact.

Let us know if that is the source of the problem, and if not, we will have to look at things like the timer.
