My Maytag top-loading washer has three wash cycles. They are "Regular, Permanent Press & Gentle". The timer can be heard ticking away on all three venues. However, it will only run on "Gentle".

It sometimes will complete the cycle without the tub draining. Other times it will drain. If I put the timer on spin on all three wash cycles and pull out the knob, nothing happens. I have to put the pointer at the beginning of the "Gentle" cycle and hope that it will drain at some point!

It was completely checked out last year by a Maytag tech. I had the seal at the bottom of the wash tub replaced because it was leaking. Any Suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

It sounds like you need a replacement timer.
