Default How to properly connect wires to capacitor?
Model Number: KAWE560W   Brand: Kitchen Aid   Age: More than 10 years

Need help. What is the proper way to connect two wires to the capacitor in KAWE560WW3?
Both wires are red.
One wire connects to the Motor Harness (1st on the bottom of harness) and is marked G on the plastic covering the inside T connector.
The other red wire is in a bundle of all other wires and has a letter C.
The prongs on the capacitor are flat and go into T metal connectors covered with translucent plastic plugs.
The plastic plugs are wider on one side, have trimmed corners and narrower opposite side. Which side should go up or down?
Does Red G go on the left or right capacitor prong?
Thanks

Hi GC,

It really makes no difference which wire goes on which terminal. Now, if the question was about a microwave capacitor, the answer would be different.

For reference:

Breakdown diagrams for model KAWE560WWH3

Wiring diagram for KAWE560WWH0 (should be very similar to H3)

I hope this helps.

Hi Roman and thank you for your speedy answer. I did replace the motor coupling in my direct drive washer. After I put it together and connected the motor harness, I was left with two wires previously disconnected (by me) from capacitor. Silly me, in the future I will mark label any parts/order, should I undertake another repair. So you tell me that I can plug it any way and it won't matter as it is a washer. Thanks again. My best, GC

Well, just to be sure, I was reffering to the two red wires that were previously connected to the capacitor - it wouldn't matter which of the two wires is connected to which terminal on the capacitor.
