Default GE washer motor will not run
Model Number: wjrr4170goww   Brand: GE   Age: Less than 1 year

Washer motor will not run on any cycle, schematic is incomplete, shows no motor or timer, wires go to motor and timer but just stop!!
Suspect internal motor thermal fuse. One data base shows parts, but no motor!

There is no thermal fuse on that motor, and if you show voltage to the motor, you will need to replace the whole thing WH20X10035. One thing to try is follow the wire harness up the right side until it gets bundled together with heat shrink. Inside you will find an in-line thermal fuse on the neutral line to the motor. See if it's open. I am about 50/50 on replacing motors or fuses.

Hi Richappy

This is a new GE Profile washer with a new variable speed inverter/motor assembly. The motor status is displayed through a series of flash codes from a green LED located on the front side of the inverter just above the motor. It has the inline fuse (in the lid switch harness) which disables the motor.

It also has a shaft and mode shifter assembly instead of a transmission.

It suppose to be a mini-manual inside the control panel.

Happy New year!

Gene.

Thanks Gene and TechnicianBrian:
Fuse was good, motor open. Never saw a schematic so screwed up, like they fired the draftsman before he could complete it!!

Happy New year to you both, will be watching the Penn. State, Texas A&M bowl game Saturday
