My maytag washing machine Model Atlantis makes a loud noise when in the spin cycle only. What could it be, it almost sounds like a bad bearing. And how hard is it to fix.

Lift the washer from the front, remove the belt and check how freely the pump is moving in both directions. Post the result and the complete model number of the washer.
