our washer fills with water, but then nothing happens. no agitation or spin. the timer seems to be working, so I think it is the door lock system. I bought the replacement part, but i'm not sure how to open the lid of the washer to access that area.

To replace the switch, pull away the front boot on the right side (you will need a razor blade to peal it off) and remove the switch electrical connectors. Reach in and hold the switch and remove the mounting screws. After replacing the switch, use super glue to attach the door boot.
If the new switch will not solve the problem, there is a good diagnostic procedure for this in the service sheet behind the kick panel.

Just open the door and remove the boot. You might want to remove the rear screws of the top panel to get the top off, just ads more light to the switch.

i opened the boot and top of washer to replace the door switch, but the electrical connectors are completely different. our washer is 11 years old with serial # xc83807040. i purchased the switch system for our model from your company, but it seems the electrical connectors are not compatible, so i am not able to replace wires color for color as instructions describe. i could not find the 9 pin plug from the speed control unit (where is that?). the diagrams in the instructions are impossible to see. what do i do now? help!

I would call this site's parts supply co. and present your problems.
