Model Number: LA8860XWQ0 Brand: Whirlpool Age: More than 10 years
Our washer is leaking a small amount during the spin cyle and there is a large black residue spot under the middle of the washer. Can you suggest what is causing this and what part is needed?

Hi Judy
The leak is likely coming from the tub seal, and the large black spot is probably the grease being washed out of your transmission. Given the age of your machine I recommend you replace it. If it is over 10 years old it has served you well and I am sure it would not be offended if it were retired. Good luck, let us know what you decide to do.
