My Maytag Washer Will Stop In The Middle Of The Spin Cycle. The Time Keeps Going. You Can Start The Spin Cycle By Pressing On The Dial. Lately It's Been At The Start Of Draining Cycle. Is This A Timer Or Something Else

It would seem to be the timer. The contacts are probably weak, and contact is breaking. The timer continues to move because the timer motor continues to operate.
No guarantees, of course, but if you want to fix this I would replace the timer and the odds are good that will take care of it.
Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.

I would turn the timer to the bad spot, then remove the timer and it's cover and look for contacts that should be closed, if one or more are burnt= new timer time.
