Can you please tell me how to remove the top portion of the washer----especially the two clamps that hold it in place. I am needing to remove it in order to replace the lid switch.

Take out the three screws that hold the transition panel (above the washer lid) and take it off. This will expose the clips that hold on the top. Use a flat blade screw driver in the forward indentation and pop the clips towards the front. This will release the clips, and the top will come off.
