my washing machine has now stopped working on 2 cycles. Only the delicate/knits cycle will function from fill to the end. The other two will fill the tub but not do a single thing from then on. No aggitate, no spin, no rinse, JUST FILL. Any IDEAS???

Hi Landon

It is difficult to be specific without your model number, but since your machine works on one cycle, that would suggest the problem is with your timer.

I recommend you replace it and see if that will solve the problem. You will need your model number to get the right part. It should be on the back of the machine or under the lid.

Good luck, let us know what you do and how it works out.

If I supply you with the model number, would it be easier to diagnose? Just wondering if this particular model would have had issues similar or identical to this.

If not, then I'll try the the timer.

Thank you very much for a starting point at least.

Hi Landon

If you can post the model number we can check and see if there are any technical bulletins put out by Maytag, who makes Magic Chef, on this model and maybe take a look at the service manual. At this point I am just guessing that you have a basic Maytag/Amana top load, mechanical timer washer.

At the end of the day I think we will still come back to the timer, but you are right to want more info, so lets see what we come up with.

Thanks
