My whirlpool washer will not advance past wash cycle, will agitate but will not advance to the rinse or spin cycle. Can advance it manually but will only work in spin cycle. Makes a clicking noise in rinse cycle.

Check and see if this happens on all cycles, and get back to us.

Also please post your model number.

Sounds like a timer issue but let's try to be a little more certain.

Before you invest in a timer. The rinse cycle is a cold water rinse. Turn the washer on a wash cycle, and ask for cold water, and see if it comes in. If not check the screans on the water valve, and see if they are clogged. If the no water comes in and you hear no hum, of the solonoid, replace the water valve. If you hear the hum, it is a dirty filter, at the valve or the faucet. If the water comes in, then replace the Timer. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
