This top load Whirlpool was fine until today. The tub fills with water but the agitator doesn't turn and the tub doesn't spin. Water drains fine. I can hear and feel the motor running. I can also hear a noise during wash, rinse and spin. The sound gets louder when I move the fabric select switch from low to high. I'm not sure which parts to replace? Would appreciate your advice.

You have the classic symptoms of a coupling failure. The repair takes a little time, but the part is inexpensive and no special tools or skill or experience is needed. Here is the part with the video that will show you how to do it.

Thank you!!! I ordered a coupler on Friday, received and installed it today, Monday, and the washer just finished its first post-repair load. The video took all the anxiety out of the repair. You guys rock!
