kitchen aid washer...its old but works great...
model number not really known but here is info from the machine panel and the cover:
Kitchen Aid two speed Quiet SCrub Extra capacity/Heavy Duty...
(on cover: Stylemaster 622784)
anyway....the upper agitator isnt engaging...the lower one ok...
part kit to fix?...

Well, without a model number we are very limited in what we can help you with.

I am going to send you to this site. It will show you how to take apart your agitator and inspect some its parts.

Unfortunately, since you do not have a model number, the site may not even be applicable, but this is a place to start

have same problem; kitchen aid stylemaster model 622784 ; upper agitator will not move; lower (bottom )_ agitator moves; cannot find link you gave to pryor questioner giving diagram etc. what part to get. ; can you assist.

If you take the cover off of the agitator you will find a 7/16" bolt. Use a socket wrench with an extension to remove it, and the top half of the agitator should come off. You will see four plastic "dogs" in it, or in your case parts of the dogs since bad dogs are likely the cause of your problem. Replace them with the agitator repair kit for your model and you should be all set.

I cannot tell you the part number because you did not post a correct model number, but if you call APP or any other parts supplier with the correct number they will be able to sell you the right repair kit.
