Unfortunately, a repairman who doesn't seem to know exactly what he's doing was working on my washer. The agitator wasn't working. He pulled it off and told me the piece that is supposed to be in the very tip end of the agitator was missing. He said he would get me a used agitator from his collection, but that was days ago.

Should I try to purchase a new agitator (I'm on a very limited budget) or find out what the piece is that's missing and buy that piece?

Thanks for any help. I need my washer.

Not sure which part you are missing, but take a look at this exploded diagram from AppliancePartsPro and see if your missing piece is there.

You may have to call about some parts, but I think you will find the folks at APP very helpful and they deliver parts very quickly. (no I do not work for them, I just buy parts from them)
