Hi,

I have a Whirlpool Washer Model GHW9400PW4 (or PWO for Oscar) and it seems to need a new MCI controller board for the motor, Whirlpool part# 8182706. After about three minutes into the cycle the motor just quits, the cycle stops and the drain pump keeps coming on to try to drain more water out of the unit. It seems like it is the motor board - or at least that is a good place to start - and not the motor itself since the motor comes on in the first few minutes of the cycle.

Does this sound like the right diagnosis and how hard is this to change out the MCI controller board for someone who doesn't know anything about Washers?

Thanks.

Here is a link to a service manual for an earlier version of your model

http://appliancejunk.com...wnloads;sa=view;down=117

which will show you how to test components and change them out.

You should have tech notes on your specific model under the top cover.
