I know you cannot give me specific information since I don't know the model number, but I am a college student who bought a washer and dryer off of craigslist since I didn't have enough to buy a new one.

The washer and dryer work fine but the Maytag washer makes a really loud squeal when in the spin mode. I searched on the internet and it seems like something may be stuck in the pump. Since I can't even afford to have someone come take a look at it, I wanted to know if you could describe how to access the pump? Where exactly is it located and how would I be able to take a look at it to see if something is stuck?

I've seen drawings on how to take off the covers for a Maytag washer...

PLEASE HELP!!

Remove the front panel. Lift up the washer from the front, remove the belt and check how freely the pump pulley is moving in both directions. The model number should be on top of the console.
