I am seeing black patches on the bottom of the inside of my 30+ year old Maytag model LA712 dryer. I suspect the finish is wearing away. What can I do to finish these patches and keep them from rusting?

Wow, 30 plus years. Great. But I cannot answer your question. I would contact Maytag and see what they say. I don't know why a good high quality spray enamel or a two part epoxy wouldn't work, but check it out with Maytag first.
