While repairing the dryer of this washer/dryer combo, I made the mistake of doing so without unpluging the unit. As a result, some wires that disconecteced from the timer control caused a pretty big short in the area of the timer control. Now the machine only fills. The timer does not advanve nor does the motor spin even if i were to turl the control dial manualy. Should I try replacing the timer first or is there anything I should check first?

I would do a continuity check on the wires first to make sure there are no open wires. If there is arcing or scortching on any of the timer terminals, there may be burnt contacts inside the timer. Part number: AP4026169

Thank you. but I just changed the timer control and still nothing. I did not see any signs of scorching anywhere.

The lid switch assembly on these stackers are known to fail. Did you check yours?

Thanks. Would the machine fill if the lid switch wasn't working?

Yes. Otherwise you would have to add the detergent with the clothes.
