My Whirlpool Ultimate Care II MODEL #LSB6200KQO will not spin clothes on the first or second drain cycles. Water does pump out. Spins automatically on final high spin cycle. I can get it to spin on the first 2 cycles by opening and closing the lid. ( I wore out the lid switch doing this and have replaced) I have replaced the clutch assembly and motor coupling. It still will not spin automatically on first cycles. Any suggestions?

Well you have done all the right things, and all the obvious things. Since it will spin on the last cycle this suggests a timer problem.

Replaced the timer today and I still have to lift and close the lid to activate the 1st. two spin cycles.

It is unusual, but if you have checked out your lid switch and you are sure it is okay then it would seem the next place to check is the connection to the lid switch from the wiring coming from the console, and then check the wiring itself for a short or break or somerthing.

It is also possible but unlikely that something is wrong with the motor switch or even the transmission, but let's hope the wiring or the connector is the problem.

Sorry, I know this thread is old, but I'm just curious if you ever found a solution to this. I have the exact same problem...
Thanks!
